Southport Pleasure Land - 23.03.23
The college managed to get in touch with the local amusement park owner to try and get us to design and conceptualize the local amusement park so that locals and tourists can also explore more of the team park and enjoy a good family day out.
Due to an NDA, I might not be able to post some of the concept art that I managed to create for the client as the industry is a very competitive scene, with others trying to get jobs within the scene.
I also might not be able to talk about the theme of the park until it is open in the near future.
What I liked about the project is that the client was very open to ideas and due to this, we could experiment more with what we are comfortable with, with regards to what he wanted. I also liked the idea of the theming of the part of Southport Pleasure Land.
The only difficult thing that I felt during the design process was that it was difficult trying to create concept art, as I felt like this was the outcome that the client wanted. He already had an external source create some typography for the park (which I would prefer that I did) and had to resort to doing concept art that I was not too confident with. I managed to do what he wanted, even though I felt discomfort when creating something that I was not too confident with.
I would show this, but due to the NDA, I am not able to. I also think that trying to do such a big project as a side thing alongside my studies was a difficult thing to do, as I would be focusing my time on my part-time job and doing my final project work alongside this and I felt like this was the most difficult thing to do. After all, if I am not able to focus on my final project and also have time for my part-time job, how am I going to be able to work on this and also do the things that a working student needs to do?
In turn, I will show this article about the topic instead;
