Final Photos for the Studio Shoot Project - 09.01.23
The photos below are the photos that I have chosen for the project. There was a sudden change of plans from the use of shadows to the use of origami due to needing models to be in with me during the studio shoot. It was a lot easier to try and take product photography in the studio and at home with lamps and lights and natural light rather than me needing to wait for my classmat-i mean- models to be in there with me in the studio.
Sometimes you think that a project like this would be fine with your original ideas, but find out that different ideas will work better later down the line and finding people to work with was hard due to this and their own college projects.
This is why halfway through my project I had to backpedal to find where I wanted this studio shoot to go.
The last couple of photos were just test shots from today that I had in mind for a while due to one classmate being inspired by light trails, which I thought about if I could use this glow-up mask and implement light streaks with that.
Other than that, I think that this project turned out to be great.
With my inspiration coming from books, the way that I normally frame things such as with the subject being in the centre of the image, but within the top third or the bottom third, it lends itself to being really useful when you need a title for the book cover.
I demonstrated this in the lightroom editing process when I added a mock-up of a title to go with a murder mystery cover.
I also managed to experiment with shots today with my fiance in the light-up mask, and we managed to take an interesting photo when she accidentally moved her head when we tried to take a long exposure shot.
I think by the end of the studio shoots project, ideas were running low which meant that I had to experiment with getting different shots. I tried to come up with promotional shots for the makeshift book that I was designing for and I think that is why I had my fiance help me with these sorts of shots.
It definitely was different to the idea of using shadows, but these shots were inspired by using paper instead of actual weapons and the whole studio shoot project pivoted with this idea.
I still feel like the initial studio experimentation was a good thing to do as I felt like the idea worked, but due to needing to plan it out with people, was difficult to execute.
