Logo Design - 12.01.23

For this part of the design process, I would design a logo for the mock charity.

I think that this would give me the identity that I wanted for the charity, which would then enable me to make sure that the designs are cohesive with the graphics for the charity.

The design is aimed at adults, as I want to spread awareness for ADHD in adults as I am one myself.

I think that keeping it black and white would have this seriousness to it, whilst still being aimed at the adults of the world. Keeping the logo with the term ADHD gets the point across easily and quickly without anyone guessing as to what the charity is about.

Adding "for adults" also encourages adults to have a look at it, instead of it being for kids.

If I was designing for kids, I would change the logo from black and white to something that is coloured and would also change the saying "for adults" to something like "for kids". I would also try and make sure that the font changes to something a little less serious for the font, but the font chosen could work as well.

The different iterations for the logo is shown below.

I made changes to the design by putting the square of the original logo and multiplied those squares to create what essentially I think are tasks.

Everyday tasks are represented by each square and by showing this off like this, this would enable me to think about how each task I needed to do each day is jumbled up.

I experimented with this idea by adding squares onto the background and inverting each square to make this black-and-white mess (as ADHD people cannot fully prioritise everyday tasks).

I then proceeded to run with this idea and polish it up even more and experiment more with the idea of using squares as tasks and I feel like I have come up with a pretty good logo to go with the charity.

I also feel like it was a good idea to keep the out-of-focus look of the logo to show the concentration effects on ADHD people.

The final logo is shown below;

I did not want the background of the logo to distract from the lettering of the logo, which can be shown in the earlier designs.

The overlapping of the squares also shows how each person would hop between tasks and I feel this shows in the overlapping of each square and the negative space for the logo, as each task is not fully completed.
