Poster Research - 17.01.23
I tried to research posters and see what others have created within the graphics industry. I have tried to use Pinterest as this has a wealth of information online. I can also try and find posters around Southport and other places to see what posters are around and to comment on their use of graphic design principles. The Pinterest page can be found here
All of these posters have different things as their design choice such as using silhouettes and shapes to create interesting compositions for the poster.
For example, the poster for the poetry slam night uses a pen and microphone shape for the design is original. For my project though, I would need to concentrate on using the typography on the poster to emphasise the meaning of the word as the brief says to lead a typography-based campaign to promote anything that I feel like spreading the word about.
Most of the posters that I saw on Instagram and generally outside almost always feature photos or some sort of illustration for the project. I feel like there are not a lot of uses when it comes to fully typographic-based posters.
