Survey Monkey Results - 02.03.23
Before today's timetabled session in college, I had done a survey to get people's opinions about the initial ideas I had managed to create. All of my questions were mostly yes or no based due to the limitations of my general survey. I would have chosen Google Surveys, but this had been shut down recently. Overall, I managed to get a lot of responses, but due to limitations on survey monkey (again), I could not see all of the responses. The survey was spread across a wide demographic (inside and outside college) and the results are shown below. 10 responses are only shown out of the 21 responses that I managed to get.
Looking at the Results
Having a quick look at these results shows that I have generated some good ideas and only had one that was not so great. I think that the limitations of using Survey Monkey for not being able to add the number of questions that I wanted, the types of questions that I could ask and how the data shows made it felt like this type of survey from them was a very difficult thing to get things out of, from a lot of people.
Only answering yes or no and then adding a business email was the best that I could have done due to the limitations of the software used for this. The responses that have been shown are only the 47.5% of the responses shown, which is a huge deal when it is that big of a percentage.
But overall, at least I managed to get some idea of what people want from this project.
First, it looks like a lot of people like things being designed around being informed about climate change and being able to be sustainable. This links to the ideas of designing informative posts about the time it takes to decompose stuff or to take photos that appreciate depreciation or even a website that shows sustainable art.
Some of the ideas such as using rubbish to create art was not that big of a hit with people and they would rather lean towards designing eco-friendly packaging.
I also think that people might have been confused with the rolls of film idea or that they think that it is something that is not worth doing, but I do want to do something like that.
There were also two people from responding that wanted to talk more about the ideas.
Talking more about the ideas
There were two responses that talked more about the ideas. These are shown below;

Both of these are very good things to talk about. The first one would be very difficult to do due to just being able to time things with things as a project with another school or even within college and even to do something like this with the amount of rubbish that we would need to create art installations for the school or college.
The other talking point of being able to combine ideas is also a good idea within itself, but with the outcomes of the results and also with this, this would lean more towards a campaign talking about the effects of climate change and I think that, itself, is a good idea.
