Historic Posters - 27.04.23

This is just a small blog post having a look at some historic posters. I felt like my posters reminded me of some of these posters, with the use of the chosen fonts that were used on the poster that I made. I also had a look at some modern stuff that was made in the early 2000s and see how my posters looked compared to them. I mostly looked at books due to wanting to explore more of this option.

I wanted to incorporate some of this feeling of forcefulness into the posters, as I wanted to show the world that littering like in the photos is not okay. Talking about historic posters could also show that there are differences within these posters such as not promoting any propaganda.

I think that I have managed to strike a balance of helpfulness and forcefulness to a degree that is not too much of being forced to do something, unlike the historic posters shown in this research. I also do not want to be shown as a propaganda statement, which I hope shows in the layout and the font choice of the posters.

Looking closer at the historic posters created, it looks like some of the posters created were made from printing techniques, most notably the screen-printing process.
