Creating a Brand Strategy – 28.03.24
For this session, the lecturer advised us to go through the slides and to think about what makes us as a person and to also think about the brand strategy of different products and services that are within the design industry. The slides used for the lecture are shown below;
The first thing that we needed to think about was the discovery, identity and the execution of our brand. These are key elements that are within the design and should be taken into consideration when creating a brand.

The next exercise that was done in the lecture was to make a forced analogy of an object. For this, me and my colleague chose to do a succulent as we thought that this would make for a good analogy of who we were as creatives.
If I was a plant, what would I be?
Succulent – Resilient, can survive weeks at a time without water, willing to grow even in tough situations, sometimes needs to be looked after (tutoring and stuff), different types of Succulents
For the last thing done for the lecture was to create core identities for the business that we were planning to setup in the business.
Core Identity –
Vision – To set up a small company to hire less experienced graphic designers and give them a boost to get into the industry
Mission – To create brand guidelines for emerging small businesses
Values – Professional and Opportunistic for people that have little experience in the industry
