Using the Pen Tool In Illustrator - 22.09.22
The pen tool is a useful tool to use in Illustrator, as this forms the base of how vector art is created. The pen tool uses a node and path of putting in shapes that the user has created. Most people will use illustrator as a sort of digitising works of art and will produce art that does not pixel due to being a vector image file. The workshop consisted of playing a mini-game called Bézier Game which taught us how to use the pen tool in a quick and time-efficient way of making paths and nodes. The photos below show the progress that I made during the workshop and some out-of-class time as well. I got carried away trying to complete every level during out-of-class time and it shows in the way that I developed my pen tool usage in the levels below.

The way that I have improved on my pen tool usage is when to change it to make a curve on a path. Before I would use the pen tool to just put nodes onto a drawing and then use the anchor point tool to make curves and then clean it out. This time around, I would put a node on the page, and then immediately change it to an anchor, which makes creating these outlines in this game faster.
In Illustrator though, it would be easier to create these as the path that I would be creating would appear in the workspace and not just randomly appear, unlike in the game.
The workshop also consisted of us creating a vector drawing from something and I chose an old drawing of a Shy-guy. This is a character found in the Mario universe. I decided to choose this as this would provide me a nice outline base that I can use to path around on. Then I chose an official photo from the internet to make sure that the colours that I eye-dropped from are close to the official colours. The results are shown on the left.
