In Class Meeting and Project Updates – 03.11.23

Discussed as a group what needed to be done.

There was still a big list to do for the project and we also had no time to do experimentation for the brand guidelines and the general design as well. We also needed to find our brand identity for both the website and the posters, as the photos have taken a big chunk of time for the project and have left me and the graphics team to design in only a few days. Experimentation needed to be done for the posters and the website, but I still believe that this could be done in the time span that we have been given. I also needed the Graphics team on what basis

I also managed to start doing the prototype of the website on Adobe XD, which is a website prototype tool that provides UI/UX designs for designers who need to mock up something and make a lot of changes to the designs such as fonts and colours. With Illustrator, not being able to change things all at once when designing a website. With XD, you can design a website and then be able to change things using compounds, which are basically building blocks for the website.

This can range from simple things such as the headings and paragraphs of a website all to the layout of certain photos and buttons. For the website, I started to mess around with the layout of the photos and tried to see which one would work best with me also tried to build up the library of things that need to be for the website. I took the liberty to also have a look at an example website that used Adobe XD so that I can see how they have built the website from the group up. I also noticed that with the example website, they have more pages that would be used for each page and even more assets, which I personally do not have time to do.

I think that doing a landing page would be fine and I will be able to experiment with it compared to building a whole working website. Maybe if I have more time and had the basic design guidelines for our project, I could have designed it but at the same time just time is a concern and things need to be done on time and thus, I had to move forward with the design.
