SWOT Analysis

I decided to do a SWOT analysis for this unit review as this would give me some scope as to what needs to be improved for another collaborative project in the future

 

Strengths –

• Had a big team to work with, which made things much easier

• Was appointed leader as this is something that I had experience with both having work as a manager and also working in a previous engineering degree

• Some coordination between most people within the group

• Group finally settled on a really good idea at the end of the day

• Final outcomes were really good with the posters, interactive website and social media posts, photos, everything

Weaknesses

• Timing was an issue due to the group due to multiple reasons –

  • Idea not solidified earlier, which led to

  • Photos not being taken earlier, which led to

  • Posters not being done earlier, which led to

  • A website not being coherent and designs not being developed fully as we have hoped

  • The posters needed to be changed to my design essentially due to having design inconsistencies

• Collaborations within the group, most people did not know what to do because they were scared about not wanting to do the project, which I personally did not understand why as this had to be completed to finish the course

Opportunities

• Being able to see how we will work together

• Seeing what each other’s strengths and weaknesses are and what they are good at

• Managing people was a fun experience, as this is something that I have always wanted to do as working in a team is my preferred thing to do

• Learning how timings should work within the design process

• Learning how Adobe XD works and developing my skills in UI/UX design

Threats

One major threat that we did not see is that the font that the graphics team used FOR THE LOGO was ONLY FOR PERSONAL USE and thus, all of work that used this, is not allowed to used online at all or for commercial use

Anyways, the rest of the threats are listed below; 

​

• Timing should be worked on as individuals, as this is needed in the industry

• The design could be rejected by an actual real-life client and we would need to design more

• The idea might have already been done before but for a different competitor within the industry

• The design could also be outdated as this style has already been around for a while
