Developing Ideas for the Book Cover - 13.11.22

I was thinking of combining everything that I have for this cover. This includes;

  • Photography

  • Adobe Illustrator

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Illustrations

  • Lettering

With the lettering, there is already an example of me being able to turn my handwritten lettering to a digital format in the professional development unit, which is linked here. This is done by importing the final lettering into photoshop, changing values so that the black lettering stands out from the page and then transferring that to illustrator and then converting said lettering to a black and white logo using image trace. This image trace can then be changed till I was happy with it.

Illustrations can also be image traced as well.

The other idea that I had was to try and print a film image, whilst holding a clear plastic backing that had my illustration on it. But to save costs, it might be a good idea to just do this digitally.

For the photography part of it, maybe photos of a park or a train station or anything that links to the book. This could also be a back garden as well, just anything to do with the story.

I think that the next set for this project is to find a good font that I can use for the book cover.

With regards to the design, it has to be able to be printable onto a cover of a book, which means the design has to be easily reproducible but still have a good design on it.
